I have just returned from a holiday at this wonderful hotel in Sorrento everything was perfect, the service was incredible, the staff extremely professional - the whole place was impeccable. There are over 50 review for this Hotel and the majority of which are exceedingly good, this is the main reason why I chose to stay there. I was therefore extremely surprised to find some negative review regarding the position. The fact that the hotel is 7 kilometres from the town centre is stated everywhere and again why I chose to stay there, it’s position is perfect, a peaceful setting with views to die for but at the same time just 20 minutes from Positano, Capri and Pompeii. personally before booking holiday we do our research and make sure we know all there is to know about a place before actually reserving a room. So we obviously knew before booking the hotel last year that it was in a wonderfully peaceful area on the hillside away from all the hustle and bustle of the town centre, exactly what we were looking for! Because of the hotel’s position we decided to hire a car but to be quite honest, with the hotel shuttle and the local bus service which stops right outside the hotel, we ended up leaving the car in the hotel car park (free) most of the time. There is a guestbook in the reception area and it is literally overflowing with compliments for the staff, they made us feel completely at home, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The shuttle bus into Sorrento was very reliable. The hotel staff could not have done enough for us during our stay. Our room was cleaned everyday and the view from the room was truly beautiful.
We used an iphone to book this hotel on location. We arrived four hours before our checkin time and were welcomed and allowed to our room straight away as it was already ready. The hotel is lovely, the staff are very friendly (all speak english if it helps). The location is not a problem as there is a free shuttle bus throughout the day so you can benefit from the quiet location but still see Sorrento. The off site restaurant was lovely however we were lot in translation a couple of times which resulted in me getting a whole bottle of wine instead of half and a slightly different main course, however this did not matter at all!
The only disappointment was one of the snacks ordered at the pool, all were fantastic apart from some horrid fried potato dish. However this is but a tiny blemish on a lovely day and evening.
The hotel was right up at the top of the hills between Sorrento and Positano, so the views were magnificent in all directions. Due to its remote location, it was difficult to get to Sorrento or Amalfi by bus and a cab was out of our price range. Local buses can be packed so may not stop to pick up. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
View is exceptional: from the pool and the bar you can see Naples and its bay, Positano on the Amalfi coast, Capri and Ischia. Location is very good as long as you are ok to drive to go to downtown Sorrento. Anyway, either you book a room in one of the extremely expensive palaces overlooking the port, or you are better off there, because of the view. All amenities were as expected, including wifi everywhere.
Nothing we did not like!
We loved the staff! Of all the places we have stayed, we have never encountered staff that were this friendly, accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. If you stay here I highly recommend the local restaurant (free shuttle provided). We tried it the first night and returned for the next two nights of our stay! Excellent!
Our only (minor) gripe is that the beds are very firm but this seems to be the norm across Italy...
I liked the location the views the shuttle bus service and the friendly staff also the panarama restaurant.
We enjoyed the views from the balcony and the roof terrace although traffic noise was a minor problem during the day, the staff at the hotel were so helpful and cheerful, we both felt really comfortable there. I think this has to do with the smallness of the hotel, this led to a friendly and relaxed feel. The pool area would be lovely in the summer and the gardens and the roof terrace were lovely in October when we stayed. The shuttle bus was so handy and the location of the bus stops just outside were very handy for visiting Amalfi and Positano and getting back and forth from Sorrento at odd times.
I was disappointed with the size of the room but it is fairly typical of an italian hotel. Also the size of the bar off the foyer, whic wasnt really big enough for more than two couples at any time, other than that we were happy with the hotel and the service which was lovely.
The staff were wonderful: friendly and extremely helpful. The pool area, the breakfast, the bus service into Sorrento all very enjoyable. Easy driving access to Positano, Amalfi... Good location to visit Herculaneum and Vesuvius and explore Sorrento - but then get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax by the pool.
Stayed a few extra days in the cabana: a great little set-up but extremely damp.
the girls at reception were always very helpull and made a lot of usefull arrangements for our trip.
We could not find the hotel using Garmin Gps either Google maps. In fact we found the hotel by accident when trying to find a place to make a U turn after driving some kilometers in a widing road. the olny spot we found was the hotel parking lot, which we discovered when we were leaving
The staff especially Laura were fantastic. It was clean comfortable and quiet.
It was away from the bussle but had a reliable shuttle service.
Awesome view, fair price, excellent service sweet gift
A little bit noisy if you have the sea view room
The position in the mountains, amazing views. Staff absolutely brilliant and professional. Reliable shuttle service to local Ill Panorama restaurant and also to Sorrento. Ill Panarama is a very good restaurant with amazing variety of food and extremely reasonable prices. It would have been nice to have an extra half hour as the shuttle brings two sittings to the restaurant. The proprietor is attentative and nothing is too much trouble. The local wine is absolutely fine although there is a very good wine list. We thought the hotel Prestige was excellent and would love to come again.
The superior rooms on the first floor level out within metres to the immediate adjacent very busy noisy main road. The rooms above the road level are best for rooms. it would be good if the bar was bigger and more intimate as when four people are in the bar it is crowded. The lounge area has 3 chairs and a sofa was also the area for internet facility. If this area is taken then where do we go with our evening drinks? when it is too cold to go on the terraces. This could also be more intimate and more chairs for guests.
the hotel, although not magnificent, is a quite reasonable place to discover the area. my compliments go to the professionals who shot the fotographs for the hotel`s web site. I really did believe that the piano in the hall was for real and not from paint. In fact the building is much less spacious than the images suggest. Regarding breakfast: it has a lot of choice but mostly not fresh products.
The hotel was away from the city in a beautiful location. They had a free bus that took you down to Sorrento on the hour and they were very accomodating. The two front desk girls were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and overlooked the whole city. They had a nice pool to relax in and had room service. We would totally recommend this hotel if your planning a staying by Sorrento/Positano/Capri. The best resturant in Sorrento was called I Giardini di Tasso in Sorrento. (We went there twice because it was so good and inexpensive)
